i finally read this manhwa up to the recent update while procrastinating on irl tasks that are giving me nonstop headaches. this one didn't exactly cure me of my headaches either (midway), if anything there were some moments where it only reminded me of my precarious situations irl that kinda plunge me into mini depressions along the way. you know the feeling of hopelessness and all. but right now i'm relieved Taeju came around with his feelings so we can at least be assured that the brothers will be safe, at least until the evil dad and vengeful gangster duo turn up coz for sure drama and violence will ensue.
and speaking of.... the other dad- Euiyoung's dad, yeah him turning up after abandoning his newborn kid is fucked up. even more so when he used the fact that he now has a job and a home and money as leverage to make Euihyun feel incompetent as his brother's guardian. like dude, he basically raised Euiyoung himself to the point that the kid became his reason for holding on despite their shitty lives. it was wrong of the dad to stake his claim out of nowhere but i also don't want to ignore the fact that he abandoned his kid coz he couldn't put up with the other evil dad who made all their lives a living hell. not saying i sympathize with him, more like i don't know how to react to him other than getting annoyed that he took Euiyoung. i wanna ask from a NEUTRAL perspective tho, what should the dad had done? not show up at all? or did he even do right by trying to associate himself into his son's life now that he has a stable life himself? did he do better compared to Euihyun's mom who didn't show up at all after leaving?
also, Euihyun IS pregnant right? just hadn't been confirmed yet?
I think he should have slowly tried to be a part of Euiyoung's life from afar vs just suddenly tearing him away from everything he knows. His brother is his world and vice versa, he should have never taken him away or at least taken Euihyun with them. Him wanting to soothe his guilty conscience is for his sake not Euiyoung's.
I think if the dad wanted to be a part of Euiyoung's life again then he should have approached big bro first, not telling the kid, and letting him know he wishes to be involved. Not that it´s his right to be involved but he would like to be involved. Big bro can then discuss it with lil bro and then dad can be told what the consensus is. They could have taken slow steps to get the dad into the kids life or allow the kid to come around to the possibility of it. The kid should have had a choice not a unilateral decision made for him. It doesn´t matter the kids age. They threw the kid´s life off balance and into the deep end with no small, slow steps. The dad left, he should have faced the aftermath and the effects of leaving the kid behind, no matter the reasons for his leaving. That´s how life works, its a grey area. Everything has a side. He made a choice. Now the kid has to make one. Or he should have been able to, really.
And the dad might have had good intentions, felt guilty, but he made a poor decision in approaching it how he did. He needed to consider the kid´s pov and mental state rather than looking at it only from a logistical side. All parties needed to talk this out not just go straight to action.
Yeah I agree! He should slowly have started that relationship and not gone all mind manipulation on the poor older brother saying the things he knew would hit him and get him his son back. Fucked up it was. like if you love a kid and someone just hey their life with you is fucked up and sucks. I can give them a better more stable life then you. what are one even to do then? Mc just thought of his brothers best interest. And had just undergone a lot of trauma with that alpha. He was not mentally okay to make sound decisions. So of course he thought it would be for the better. Not thinking how hard life would be without his brother. The red haired dad did wrong
yeah i like your last point and i agree. adults have this way of saying i'm doing for your own good, but truly, it's for the adults' convenience instead. i did ask those questions from a neutral perspective like i said but honestly i don't want Euiyoung to live with him, so yeah he should've tried from a distance first. the brothers deserve to be together.
Yes, he absolutely shat on all of Euihyun's efforts to keep his brother happy and healthy to the best of his abilities. Like you ran away instead of struggling so now that you got your shit together you think you're better than the person who's actually put in the effort to raise Euiyoung? I think not.
What's really fucked up is that all the stuff he said to Euihyun about not providing Euiyoung with a good enough life was probably how he felt about himself at some point in time and hated himself for it. So, for him to turn around and make Euihyun feel that way when he's devoted his life to trying to provide the best life for Euiyoung is just so vile.
right! totally! the kid's opinion do matter as well. they're often taken for granted in many fictional setting (even irl) that they're too young and can't make decisions for themselves blahblahblah but their decisions are just as important as well
I think everyone thinks the brothers should be together. I just think the way the dad approached the situation determined whether he deserved to be in Euiyoung's life. It's not a matter of not wanting him to be a part of Euiyoung's life but he tried to force himself into a place of importance without having earned it. Even if you do things with good intend, the wrong approach can have a negative impact.
it absolutely broke me when Euihyun decided to give his brother to the dad but yeah he shouldn't have been making decisions in his state. i was angry at Taeju for arriving late haha but it's fine now since he found Euiyoung first. him yelling Euihyun's name instead of the kid's to lure him out was a hilarious but fine idea. and since he's also there in the latest update i hope he gives the dad a reality check that the brothers deserve to be with each other. i kinda hate the idea that Taeju has to do it but again, Euihyun's too shaken up for now

those women are annoying for sure to the point that i wanna bitch slap 'em all for gossiping and frankly invading a co-worker's privacy like that. but i hate it even more when bl mangas have these typical women that readers would most definitely come to dislike. if they aren't the stubborn (potential) third-party or the ex-girlfriend, they're the blabbermouths. i can only hope to see them being Shinobu and Hikaru's number one supporters IF they ever get outed coz of 'em inconsiderate bitches!
Right, we usually barely have any female characters in BL Mangas which is fine I suppose it's not about them, what isn't fine though is when most of them turn out to be either incredibly insensitive and nosy or just terrible people in general if you can't write good female characters without making them out to be hateful biggots just keep them out of your stories it's that easy really
no hot and heavy scene happening yet but whew! i feel like we need a psa to breathe. i could feel Hyeon Zeo's possessiveness leaking out of my screen and it's addicting, like i can't wait to see them getting down to business. slow burns with these kind of tension are the best!
