I really don't think that's true, that the parents did that. In the butler's position, it would be a high chance that he's a paedophile, who had feelings for her as a child. He would feel conflicted for his feelings for her, as he has a brain and blame the world. When he finds out that his sweet innocent angle is to be engaged. He is conflicted with anger and storms into her room to take her innocence, the one thing that could forever be his. He rapes/molests her, as a sheltered child, she doesn't know what's happening to her and softly cries and regrets his touch. Her reaction is seen as soft and cute, this leads the ML to regret his actions and goes to apologies. The same thing happens then because he is unable to control his manly desires. After all, she is so wonderful. As a sheltered child, she takes this apology and thinks the things that have happened to her is destiny. It's her destiny to marry him and therefore what he did was to bring them together. And the reader will not question it because the ML is handsome and has an attractive personality and the art is good. it's a heavily romanticised version of rape/molestation, they would just ignore the red flags and simp over the ML.
