Chiharu said he will do everything to reduce the years to 1. But in another volume the president of Mercury said that Kazuki works really hard and is good at his job so he will reduce it from 10 to 5 years.

It was actually exaggerated taking into account the human nature and how we can adapt to the things that are expected of us. For the title of a CEO you must first improve your socializing skills and your control of temper. After that comes your maths and organising skills (and any other speciality that comes from a CEO) which will probably take just under 4 years
Yep Chiharu said those 10-5 years where he not gonna work in his company, so after 1 year when Kazuki go back to Japan he will work another company. tho. I wish Kazuki will be near Chiharu even in his work place.
He did consider his father wanting to continue his reign. That's why they speculated about 10 years. Their company is not normal at all so 10 years just shows how difficult it will be to master becoming the pres of the Todou group
