All these people are aristocrats. They've never done a chore in their life and have been raised to believe they are above chores or any sort of labor. During a time in England, it was even considered demeaning if an aristocrat had a job of any kind. I don't know what culture this story is mirroring but that seems to be the explanation behind the children's behaviors.

He remembers Diana and all that. He remembers they had Athy but he only remembers up to her death and Athy's birth TwT God... I honestly hate how he treated Athy but he's just a pitiful man who couldn't cope well with the lost of the person he loved the most... Basically, because of the memory lost, Diana's death is fresh to him all over again T^T Ah... someone help him, he's making me cry
