Am I the only one who feels sorry for Fifi? She busts her ass working for a man she loves but is already married. Protects his wife, his company, etc... and doesn't even get a thanks. She is always on top of things so they don't get worse, and has to constantly explain things to "naive-forever" FL.
Like, she is smart, tenacious, loyal, respectfull, beautifull, but we are suposed to root for a bumbling naive girl who has the mental capacity of a high schooler.
(Note: she is still ages away from the normal chinese FL who are dumb as a rock and are pushed around by everyone despite being "a strong FL")

I don't expect her to get the ML, but hey would it kill for the author to make a scene of her getting a thank you? from anyone? she is used as an Deus Ex Machina (Gods machine) where the FL needs a way out/ information and Fifi just exists to guide the FL through the plot when it's inconvinient for the ML (It's just real bad writing)
Can't we just abolish the emperor and make this country a matriachial monarchy? Lizzie can be the reignant empress, with her sister as 2nd in comand and shitty ML can cavort with his trashy mistress all day long. there! problem solved! (this should be a new trope, the emperor chooses the women in his harem for political abilities and they rule the country (division of labor and all that) the emperor is just a figure head to mantain the bloodline. his only responsability is choosing consorts wisely and eventual veto power)

This feels like a trashy novel. Everyone on this novel is bonkers. FL uses ML in the worst way possible (and it didn't even have to be him) and abuses the fact that no one believes ML to push him into a corner. All while smiling like mother Theresa. ML has deep self loathing, is a drug addict and an alcoholic (basicaly he is deperatly running from a painfull reality he can't/won't deal with) and is very reactive, every time he is hurt he wants to hurt back, wich refuells his self-loathing - drug cicle.
Basically she chose the one person with the deepest worst psichological/emotional/chemical problems ever.
(Side characters, like cold moms, angry/violent brothers and dad of MCs are also bizarre. You never see anyone happy or happily smiling except FL)
