I didn't read past the trigger warnings, cuz I didn't want to get spoiled (some spoilers tags are minimal, some are substantial. This is a substantial spoiler situation). But ngl one of those triggers I guessed. That upsidedown family portrait with MC and a male's face scribbled out. I could sense that one. There was a backstory in that situation

***Setting is no longer in Hwaido Island but in the Kwon Mansion. This is the real Chaewoo. Lee Yeon and Chaewoo are broken up.

Lee Yeon was ordered by Kiseok to re decorate the garden w new plants to match the “sex” theme. She agrees and plants new flowers and trees.
The day of the event comes and she originally planned on NOT showing up at all but unfortunately there was a malfunction with one of the trees so she was called in to fix the issue. She goes and sees a bunch of nude men and women in the garden some already in the act of sex (not everyone is naked). She gets to work and looks around and spots a bored looking (clothed) Chaewoo with a group of people. Lee Yeon accidentally cuts her hand but is interrupted quickly by a drunk older man. He grabbed her arm and pulled her to the center of the garden. The man places a mask on Lee Yeon and grabs everyone’s attention, Lee Yeon is terrified as everyone looks at her. She looks at Chaewoo who is now looking more interested but worried. The drunk man holding Lee Yeon instructs her to run away since they will be playing the annual game of “tag”, the game consists of running from chasers to prevent them from stripping you completely, if you are no longer clothed by the end you lose. Lee Yeon was chosen as the target and she grows more terrified. A glass suddenly flew in the air and shatters against the man, Lee Yeon looks at the direction it was flung and it was an irritated looking Chaewoo. She takes this chance to run deep into the garden and climbs a tree to hide. Everyone runs past this tree, but Lee Yeon notices one man looking up, it was Chaewoo. Of course he’d know she’d climb a tree. He spots her and begins to climb the tree. He instructs Lee Yeon to wrap her legs around his waist but pulls her in himself after she refuses. Lee Yeon is cautiously holding on to him, he begins to reassure her that he is here to help her. Chaewoo is still struggling with accepting his feelings towards Lee Yeon, he is still acting cold to her but also yearns for her touch and attention. Both Lee Yeon and Chaewoo begin to feel a little bit hot and are filled with desire. Lee Yeon tries to resist the growing feeling as Chaewoo confesses how bothered he is by her for making him feel things he shouldn’t.
The moment is interrupted when Chaewoo gets a report in his in ear piece. It’s revealed that Chaewoo had been trying to plant some evidence against Kiseok during the event (i don’t really know what Chaewoo’s plan was, it’s still pretty confusing to me. Just know he’s trying to take Kiseok down). He is let know that the plan will take about 20 minutes and Chaewoo grows frustrated but agrees. He tells Lee Yeon to endure the time with him for a bit.
Chaewoo begins to undress his shirt and has Lee Yeon wear it to try and hide her. He holds her as he begins to descend from the tree. Now on ground, he grabs Lee Yeon’s bleeding fingers and starts to suck on them.
Lee Yeon grows embarrassed and hot when she notices him get hard. She is quickly brought back when she hears moans and laughter nearby. She looks at Chaewoo and reminds him to not cross the line between them (they are broken up). Chaewoo begins to smile at Lee Yeon’s frustration and covers Lee Yeon with his shirt again. The drunk older man from before finds them and cusses at Chaewoo. He tells Chaewoo to undress her and to stop adding clothing to the target, Chaewoo grows cold and hides Lee Yeon behind him as the man approaches. He grabs the older drunk man by the neck and Chaewoo begins to “correct” the drunk man and makes himself the target instead of Lee Yeon.
People start to gather around and Chaewoo puts the mask on. He quickly warns Lee Yeon to hide in the crowd the second the chasers pounce on him and to pretend to not know him.
Chaewoo looks at Lee Yeon’s expression and quickly realizes the situation he had put himself in willingly. He apologizes to her for the first time to her since they separated. He is slapped and is swarmed by a group of women and a couple of men.

They begin to scratch, slap, punch, and grope Chaewoo. Lee Yeon watched and frowned at the scene unraveling in front of her. Chaewoo immediately swings the second someone touched his buckle causing his mask to fall off. More ppl began to spit and slap him around as they poured wine at him (they got more ‘excited’ when they realized it was Chaewoo). Chaewoo remained ‘calm’ as he continued to listen to the reports from his in ear piece. 20 minutes had past and he looks Lee Yeon who was frozen. Chaewoo’s in ear disconnects for a second but reconnects quickly. A person begins to respond on the other end and tells Chaewoo that some “rat” came in. Chaewoo grows cold as he knows whose voice it is. People scatter as they watch Kwon KiSeok walk in dragging an unconscious/lifeless naked man. Kwon Chaewoo’s mission had failed. Kwon KiSeok speaks to the in ear he has stolen from one of Chaewoo’s men. He pulls out his gun and aims it at the in ear piece he stole. Anybody who wore an in ear piece would have their eardrum ruptured because of the sound. KiSeok makes sure to look at Chaewoo to watch for any discomfort/pain as he pulls the trigger next to the in ear piece he had stolen(he suspects Chaewoo is the one behind the whole thing). Lee Yeon is quick and runs to Chaewoo, she pulls his pants down with ease, her goal is to end the “tag” game but to also cover his pain after the small device in his ear explodes so Kiseok wouldn’t confirm his suspicions. She holds on to Chaewoo and pulls his underwear down (yes he’s erect) ending the tag game. Chaewoo managed to remain stoic even tho he was I n pain. Lee Yeon walks up to Kiseok and angrily complains to him, successfully distracting him. Kiseok is slightly taken aback as he listens to her. The party is done.

Lee Yeon hesitates to call the number but is reassured by the woman. She tells Lee Yeon she misses her son and wants to go back to see him one last time. So she calls and waits for the men to pick Jooha up. Meanwhile Jooha remembers and tells Lee Yeon to dig under her favorite tree so she does and finds a classical CD holding all of the songs she heard the mysterious person play as she sat under the tree. Lee Yeon refuses to take the $20,000 cash reward, she finds out the money was transferred to her uncle’s hospital bill and believes it was the woman who had payed it but it was actually Kiseok.

Kwon Chaewoo:
At age 3 he was kidnapped by Kiseok’s music teacher named Yoon Jooha who was 21 y/o at the time. She wanted revenge for what the Kwon family had done to her at age 10 (she was experimented on illegally by a pharmaceutical company owned by the Kwons). Instead of hurting the 3 y/o she gets attached and raises him w love in Austria where she teaches him the Cello. Chaewoo became a very talented cellist during his stay in Austria but unfortunately they were found out and had to go into hiding again. So they fled to Hwaido and hid inside a small house deep in the mountains when he was 13. Chaewoo wasn’t allowed to go out and talk to others so he stayed home 24/7 most of the time. Everyday he’d see a silly pretty girl cry under a tree down the hill. He took this chance to play the cello for her every time she was there and enjoyed it because to him she was his only audience. He looked forward to seeing her everyday and whenever she wasn’t there he’d sneak out and take the post it notes she’d leave behind. They are found out again and chased in the forest by the Kwon guards, Chaewoo wanted to save his mother so he tells her to go down the hill where the pretty girl lives to ask her for help, he also tells his mom to tell the girl to dig under her favorite tree because he had hid a classical CD as a gift for her. So Jooha goes downhill as told and Chaewoo is taken back to the Kwon family.
After a month goes by, Kiseoks tells Chaewoo his “mother” had died in a car accident. Chaewoo gets depressed and stops playing the cello. He starts working in the family business and gets addicted to violence.
Years go by and he finds out Kiseok had been lying to him about how his mother actually died and threatens to kill him. Kiseok held Jooha captive in a basement under Chaewoo’s room and told Jooha he’d feed her each time Chaewoo played the cello, unfortunately this is around the time he had given up the cello so she starved to death. Kiseok tells Chaewoo that a girl named Lee Yeon was the one who had sold his “mother” back to him for the $20,000 cash reward. Chaewoo spares Kiseok for now. He is sent to Hwaido by Kiseok’s order. In Hwaido, he redirects his anger to a man and as as he’s trying to bury him he hears a woman and chases after her. He realizes it’s Lee Yeon and before he could decide what to do w her he is hit in the head repeatedly by the man he attempted to bury.
