It might just be translation stuff, the friend could just be worried or curious with no ulterior motive but the tone and words used for the sentence can convey a lot of different things.
It's why I use visual cues instead so since the frame and panels are bright and the font text is normal. I just assume that it might have been exaggerated.

I have binge read the novel.. all I can say is some people should never have children. Taoxi nominal parents and biological dad.. even the nominal grandma, Lin Qinghe parents are all scum who have been abusing/neglecting their children. Taoxi and Lin Qinghe deserved all the good things in this world. With "family" like that it's a miracle they grow up to be kind and hardworking young men.

The author should've completed the main couple story before moving on to other couples. Stop with the mindset that readers will go away when the main couple's story is finished. Because it's BS. Other creative authors (Yuki Shimizu, Sakuraga Mei, etc) have successfully created multiple spin off stories based on the same universe.
