I think it’s because he suspects that the main character is doing something and sometimes makes rude comments to the main character
He didn't investigate throughly on wat really happened to the mc's family when the mc is telling that those kids did it but when these criminals gets weeded out he suddenly acts all justice toward these criminals telling that he'll serve justice and suspects that the mc did it remembering that it might be revenge on wat happened years ago
