So this is a vague expanation because there's a lot of the story so I can't put detail, and I read the novel a while ago.

But the basically, Po continues getting closer with Soft Chicks (the doctor I forgot his name) to the point where she develops feelings for him. Lucius is still in love with her and suffers heartache because if it. They are called to Nanaba, they go there. Po is excited to go see the babies that have been born and to give them gifts. Some noble people are mad because Rebecca is pregnant, but Lucius still gets a congratulations that he is going to have a baby. He is always thinking of Po, and feels bad being congratulated of having his wives being praised on front of the woman he loves and stuff (If I'm remembering the correct situation). Likewise his wives are jealousy of how close he is with Po. They had just been done hunting and he and her were making jokes and laughing. He never laughs like that with them.
Things only get worse when Lady Stra is put in danger when a deer tries to attack her and Po jumps in to save her, everyone screamed for the Lady except for the emperor lucious whose feelings took over and he screamed Polina desperately. Ever since Lady Stra knew he was in love with her, he was upset that she almost died and he reminded her she is his and she isn't allowed go die without without say so. The man didn't didn't care for his wife, this was a reminder of how deep his love for Polina was getting.

Po and soft chicks will be close to marriage but then she visits him one time when he goes to his village and she discovers he has been lying to her about the real reason he wanted to marry her. He wanted her money yes but he apparently had a child with the maid he married. He was a noble but disowned for marrying a maid and his wife died unfortunately so he now was a single father and needed money for his son. He planned on taking Po's name Winter to make his son a noble and give him her money. Upon learning this Po was mad, her anger was mainly because she got her name from the Emperor who she loves and respects so much so the idea someone wanted to swindle it from her upset her.

The emperor was there witnessing this too, he went with her there. He was happy when she was confronting him because he really didn't want her to be with anyone else (I know right, he is one jealous mothafocka ) but she cuts his genitals...yeah

The novel is finished alr, Lucius and Po end up together and they have a kid :D Lady Tory and Lady Satra both divorced/broke off marriage w Lucius and they're on good terms with Po. Lucius got rejected by Po like 2x even tho Po loved him back the second time. She rejected him both times bc she didn't want to give up her last name and lose her position and shit. To get her to marry him, Lucius basically changes the empires laws so women could inherit family names, keep titles, etc. Po and Lucius have a son together but it is Lucius' daughter who will inherit the throne (daughter is from Rebecca who dies after giving birth).

Ok, that got me reaaally mad, so if i understant, this stupid Emperor brought 3 women in this mess and will not take care of her at all! He really doesn't care about them and because of the laws and mysoginistic culture their lifes depends on him like wtf will happened to them when his romance with pauliana will conclude.will they be disposed like trash, will they died?!!! Like they will have no value in everyone's eyes because no one in the book and in reality seems to really fucking care about them.

i mean lucius doesn't think pauliana loves him back and she doesn't. also lucius' work w uniting the continent would go to waste if he doesn't get a wife bc he needs to stabilize his political position. everything works out w the three wives tho (1 dies but leaves behind a child who becomes empress, and the other two divorce/leave lucius and work for him instead). lucius actually really cares for his wives and makes sure that they're well. however, they are political marriages so there's no love but he treats them w respect and acknowledges their talents.

No actually THEY left him. He was very caring towards them, you can't force yourself to be in love but you can show gentleness and care, and he did that. He just wasn't on love with them. Rebecca died to give birth to an heir that was her choice and decision, I thought it was dumb but she chose the life. And the other two decided to divorce, I actually was hurt for him, his new born child wasn't well, his wife had died, and there were other issues and they chose to divorce him right when he probably could have used the support. But I digress. Anyways, so yeah, he was good to them, there's really no need to be mad.

Additionally the person I'm actually mad at is Paul, like I get her sentiment to her name but she highkey made a decision for her son as to who he will be. She took his heritage from him instead of Jim embodying both and maybe maybe resonating with one over the other for himself.
I don't know, that was just just error of judgement to me.

It wasn't her decision to make for him, she basically did the I want my child to be a doctor when they grow up thing, instead of being what they want.
