Ya know...things are actually happening now, yet I feel like we haven't even scratched the surface of the huge backstory behind everything. As much as I absolutely LOVE this story, for as long as it has been going, I don't think we've really gotten anywhere when it comes to the underlying main plot of it all. These fights caused by a hatred from a thousand years ago that we still don't know hardly anything about are getting a little redundant...

God fucking dammit! ヽ(`Д´)ノ ╥﹏╥ I can now see the big turning point that will come from Lazark's death (especially for Rael), but,of course, no one wants to see a beloved character die. Up until now, no one had died from the fights (though there have been close calls). This death (especially with how unexpected it was) is now going to open everyone's eyes and really push them to start taking action, in a show-no-mercy kind of way. It's always been "Now's not the time, now's not the time", but not anymore. Now Rael has the chance to step up and prove himself. I have a feeling that he may even go rogue for a while because of his closeness with his brother.
For those of you that are having trouble understanding why Shingo is behaving as he is, this all goes back to being abandoned when he was young. He was traumatized with major insecurities and trust issues regarding relationships with people. He has hit a point in his relationship with Keiichi that is causing his insecurities to go into overdrive, essentially. Communication between the two of them has not been the greatest either, only adding fuel to the fire. Shingo's fear is, that if he gets too deeply involved with Keiichi, and something were to go wrong (a.k.a Keiichi leaving him), then he wouldn't be able to bear it and pull himself back together. He either gives his all to Keiichi, or nothing at all. He's the one breaking up with Keiichi now, because he has control over the situation. He knows what to expect. He can steel himself to the grief and pain if he's the one that instigated it, rather than if it were Keiichi years or so on down the line. He deals with the pain now so as not to experience a far harsher version of it later, or so he believes. Simply put, his mentality is get out now (from "possible" future grief and suffering, which in his mind is more likely to happen than a stable relationship) before it's too late, and he won't be able to pick himself back up.
*Edit* He feels "relieved/relaxed" that they have "broken up" because his situation is back in his control, he knows what to expect and prepare for. He's back in his "comfort zone".
Well said! Truly tragic, really. What a beautiful, broken soul Shingo has.
I so agree with you. And the heart-wrenching thing is that it seems as though Shingo is only lying to himself. It's so obvious that he is still in love with Keiichi but he himself knows that the fault lies with him. The relationship will never work if Shingo can't work out his insecurity issues and stop lying to himself. All the repressed emotions are going to explode eventually.
Exactly. Shingo refuses to bring the real issue to light because the issue is him. His own thinking. He knows that in order to really fix what's wrong, he would have to enact a HUGE change in himself, his mentality, perception, many things. With how deeply rooted his insecurities are, that's the most terrifying thing of all.
I am with Shingo all the way because I can relate to him. This whole thing kind of happened to me too. T.T
Yep. I understand where Shingo is coming from and intimate relationships on a whole is difficult for him. But I think he is doing more of an injustice to himself than anything. We all know the hardest person to change is ourselves. I just want him to be happy and continue on in a healthy relationship which can only happen (as Radactyl says) if he changes himself. Recognizing his denial is the first step.
I feel like this is the end of the world. Im gonna hide my heart away now waiting for ch. 11.
