i can see between the lines of what the author was trying to do with the MC. The kid has put Yuma in not one but two deadly situations yet Yuma sticks around. I think even if the MC were to confess his love in a traditional way, Yuma would have tried to act like nothing happened, hence the burn and the cut. MC feels really guilty about it yet Yuma holds no grudge, but the MC can't handle not only those situations being ignored but the possibility of Yuma throwing his love for him under the bus. So rather than keeping Yuma by his side he rather get him to hate him, that way some of that guilt and love for Yuma goes away. I mean thats how I see it. Rape isn't cool, but the MC felt he had to do the ultimate betrayal to get Yuma to hate him, and even that didn't work fully to his advantage.

It's sad to say that most people who read yoai only read it for that purpose who is going to bottom and too who.
