For Shin, his priority is Wolfgang’s well being, not Wolfgang’s feelings. And in his mind, finding a queen and furthering the bloodline will help stabilize Wolfgang’s position and prevent future insurrection - a valid concern considering the massive coup that just occurred and the numerous attempts on Wolfgang’s life. There’s definitely much better solutions to this, but thinking outside the box is Wolfgang’s forte, not Shin’s (and in terms of plot, I do trust Wolfgang to come up with a solution that deviates from the classic royalty/nobility and their strict rules. We already saw him do it once with the choosing of the king’s guard).
Also, now we’re learning about all these dangerous bordering countries that could also make a move, the threats aren’t only from within the kingdom. In that sense, Wolfgang is the stupid one for risking his own life as the king after all the assassination attempts for the sake one financial minister. But his feelings aside, this is King’s Maker and he knows as well as we do that the country would be in shambles without Shin. Wolfgang is still reckless, but he has a valid point this time.
Their actions make sense in context of their characters and backgrounds (quite traumatic backgrounds too). Feelings aren’t easy for Shin, they never have been and besides his natural personality, he grew up in an environment where he had to maintain extremely controlled emotions and expressions with not only his own life but also his family’s lives at stake. And while their actions are consistent with their characters, the lack of character development over the last season was extremely frustrating and now it’s what we’re left with to start this new season. I’m hoping we do get better character development this season. I don’t need them to be all romantic but I hope to see growth (and natural, unforced growth). I think the focus on plot took away from the space for character development last season and I hope that’s not repeated this time around.
Side note: Shin has been obsessed with the monarchy since he was a child. His dream, which was his only hope and driving force back then, was that of a Benevolent King. It was not to overthrow the monarchy altogether and implement a different system of governing. He got rid of the old pedo king to put a new Golden haired Golden eyed Royal on the throne - something that Mosshire points out. I strongly believe that if Wolfgang had been red headed, Shin would not have chosen him. For me, Shin’s obsession with continuing the bloodline makes sense. I don’t agree with it, and I don’t think the story will actually go in that direction, but his actions make sense to me and I’m not going to hold it against him.

That “song” lmfaoooooo
Every chapter I fall more and more in love with this! The dynamic between the couple is absolutely perfect, I’m in love with them. And I love the immediate contrast between the emperor’s cute flirtiness and his cold reprimand. It shows how much he let’s his guard down with Suyoung, and the best part is that it was a gradual process for the two to get to this point of their relationship so the development feels believable. They’re probably going to get even more cute and lovey dovey in the future (I hope!) ε=ε=(ノ≧∇≦)ノ

Tbh realistically, neither of them should go. It sounds like a super dangerous place, I mean what else would we expect a drug capital to be, and it's no place for a King just coming off a whole assassination/coup event and a Minister who's health is failing him and can barely stand. I'm stressed hnnnnng
I feel like the most logical course of action would have been to send a messenger/negotiator/guard or something like that...or even Sys by himself (with an entourage ofc). But well, where would the fun and drama be in that
HUUUUH?? THAT’S IT???
There’s got to an extra or something how could it end at that moment???????? (╯°Д °)╯╧╧
