this is unrealistic. the duke would actually cut your tongue off for lying and then strip your rights away so you have to work as a slave to repay this humiliation.
Duke knew that if he did too much and y/n found out then he’d be upset and didn’t want to scare him so decided to be civil about it (for now…)
