Normally to move, your brain sends signal to your nerves to move muscles, it’s really rapid and for repeated motions build by habit, you create a route. That’s a build reflex (contrary to innate). For our mc here, his brain knows the route, it still exist but unfortunately the nerves are damaged, like a barrage to the water flow, it still passes, hence why he can move, but the NT (the molecule used to pass information from nerve to nerve) is not flowing fluidly, hence the tremors. Resulting in a loss of mobility, you can retrain yourself, make your brain create new routes with other nerves (that’s reeducation) but for an athlete you won’t quite be the same as before. Our mc couldn’t keep his hands steady enough it seems.

How does it work in the game ? Normally he should’ve lost his mobility as well in the game, but the reflex is deeply ingrained in his body that, although the usual route is flawed, the brain knows, he knows what muscle is supposed to move and how it should. So it moves the body through overcompensation, like left brain doing the work of the right brain in cases of damages. Anyways. That’s dangerous more so because it’s the brain. Why? If an organ works overtime it swells, and heats up, if the brain swells more than it should, the intracranial pressure is gonna go up and that’s permanent damage right there, cells are gonna die one after the other and unfortunately for the brain dying cells are really serious cause the command specific things. He could go blind, be paralyzed, half paralyzed or even just be brain dead if not treated on time. So the fact that he still plays is concerning. Cause exercise and good habits help when you stop, not when you go on.
