okay see, i'm not sure how to put this but as much as i've come to love Seth, i'm not saying this from a place of bias. isis is insane. she's letting her anger blind her. and while seth has done vile things, he DOES have a reason. he's a shitty, terrible person. but he does what he does out of love and trauma. isis has just revenge and hatred on her mind, going as far as to use her son as a pawn.
Seth is not meant to be seen as a normal human rape victim. If he was human, and hadn't made himself king, I would agree whole-heartedly with you. But since he is not human, and he did make himself king, I can't agree.
This story makes gods' role to be more like those that deities have in Asian myths, where they can't just do anything they want because they are gods, but most importantly, they can't live and make decisions in the way a mere human would.
Seth is a god who had big responsibilities towards the humans he was meant to protect. No one forced him to become king of Egypt after Osiris' death, yet he still willingly took that job, and made a mess. The point here is that, no matter what, Seth needed to be made to step down. And though we can all agree Isis is being a complete b*tch to him, at the end of the day she and Anubis are still the ones that made the other gods move their butts and start actually *doing* something about it.
I believe even as a god he doesn't deserved to be raped. He is a victim. Whether he is a god or not. He can't just move on with the trauma because he is a god.
Him being a god means he can't use humans to vent his anger on what another god did to him, same as a ruler can't use the people he rules to vent his anger about personal matters.
