I think the scent thing is very probably since it's common interface so many species but she did tell Parler herself that she would mate with Curtis... Even promissed later to mate with him in her cycle after birth lol

Well, it all worked out apparently so kewl...but like...Now I'm like...so did she request him to request it or is he turning a new leaf? I'm hoping the latter like I want this man to get redeemed after seeing his tragic story..I mean he's definitely rough around the edges but damn it we saw his whole back story and how he's apparently supposed to die if this girl doesn't manage to fix him then what's the point? The moral shouldn't be: Some people are just destined to die sad and alone because they were cursed at birth to be tragic...That would be a sad moral.
