I've been reading this manga for at least two years, I've been going on and off of it but a month or two ago I started reading it again consistently. The shifting of the story is so incredible and beautiful, it feels monumental. This was such a big turn. The nostalgia of waiting for new updates and going through turns hit me like a truck. I just hope that new readers enjoy this story as much as I did. This was beautiful, and Ed and Creed managed to walk on water with their love.
(If you like Allendis don't read this, I respect your opinion.) Where do I even begin? From the very beginning just came to her out of jealousy (I know it changed but still), and then when they made the whole fake knight pact he calls her "his lady" and talks about it as if he OWNS her? Like the entire point of the pact is to vow LOYALTY to the person and PROTECT them as "your lady" (master/liege) so he completely just ignores the actual meaning and goes on to try to restrict her actions ect. while using possessive terms as if he owns her and has any obligation toward him to follow what he wants. He even goes as far as to try to KILL her father by joining the VERY organization that she's working against because he was preventing him from being able to see her. And he basically just completely fools her into thinking he did none of this and that he was just a nice boy that she rejected the feelings of. Like after he just springs his confession on her and she goes to decline he fr just trys to prevent her from saying the VERBAL rejection. Mental earplugs much? AND THEN, WHEN HE'S MONLOUGING HE TALKS ABOUT HOW HE HAD TO "TRAIN" HER TO RELY ON HIM AND DO WHAT HE WANTED! LIKE LITERALLY TALKS ABOUT HER LIKE A DOG! And then PLEAAASEEE spare me the pity party he puts at the ends of this monolouge. "Oh WOEEEE IS ME! She didn't do what I TRAINED her to do and be obsessed with me! IT DIDN'T GO AS PLANNED UWAA! I'M OBSESSED WITH HER SO I NEED HER! ...And now I'm gonna be all lonely n' stuff! Goodbye MY lady..." Conclusion/TLDR: He was a super toxic thing in her life like 90% of the time, treated her like his property, and was straight up a psychopath and a huge douchebag to other people. Glad he's gone and don't want him to appear again (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜
i feel the same. he was the definition of sus to me. but i got sad when he went away for years. plus his life basically becomes miserable when he returns to the empire what with tia married and with kids. and to think he did it firstly because he wanted to inherit his ducal house. then he ended up falling in love the wrong way. i fucking hate his father for making him like that
Yeah, his father is one of the most bitter and hateful men I've ever seen. He gets away with it too. He was one of the people who made the prince hate her, thus leading up to all of her past life misery. And for what? So she could get married to his stupid incapable son as a tool for their ductal house? And then he gets all bitter about his son being way smarter than him and shuns him for it, like what the heck? I hate his father for neglecting him of love and being the way he is. But also, what did he expect? Like, you think the girl YOU went on to try to "train" and own is going to wait for you Allendis? Like of course she's going to be happy on her own, Allendis did NOTHING to deserve her other than writing like one letter that encouraged her that he only wrote to get her to play into his hands in the first place. I agree that his father was a huge cause of it and Allendis could've been a great character if he had good parents, but I guess it's all just one big tragedy. He AND his father are toxic ig.
