How I understood it is that Yellow dragon keeps bringing his soul to his world when DJ is about to die. DJ lives in Yellow dragon world where he continues takes the yellow dragon's poison. After taking the poison he dreams of a world without YD and he is happy in that world. So, YD sends him back everything to live the life he dreams about.
To me, it's like YD keeps bringing DoJin's soul to him. Like, after the soul has lived it's lifetime, it gets reborn and YD follows it and calls it to his side
