I finished reading this novel on Tuesday and I want to say a big thank you to whoever posted the link to the novel here cos they made my entire week. I couldn’t do anything else. I spent the whole of last week and some part of this week reading the novel and it was awesome. I even stopped reading all the updates of my favorite mangas and series cos I just couldn’t drop the novel for a minute.
The flashbacks made me really sad as expected but the novel was great.

I knew it. I knew it was gonna come to this. I hate to say this but it serves Wonyoung right. He had countless opportunities to tell him the truth. Even after seeing his boss had made contact with Yoon, it was the perfect time to finally open up and distance yourself for Jung’s plans but you had to keep dragging it out. I’m so annoyed.
I’m just here praying to God that it isn’t his eye. Because I can’t take it.

I didn’t know the extra stories would be about the side couple. As much as I don’t mind reading about them, I still would have preferred to read some more chapters about the main couple.
Main couple had 80 chapters
And I still want more.
I keep praying the author would come up with a new story for the side couple. I just love them so much and I wish to read more chapters about them.

For some strange reason, this webtoon leaves a tightening in my chest and I just can’t continue reading it. Like, everything just seems to be some huge fan service and it’s rather sad. It makes it lose taste to me. Like, how can you take a very good story and spin it around just for some angst, only to take it too far and are now relying on your readers’ opinions for a new ending? The plot should have been thoroughly thought out before being executed.
Like, who switches ships in the middle of a story??? You had us all shipping Khaol and River from the get-go. Even the summary didn’t mention Heil as a potential rival so why didn’t he end up with maybe even Forest or something?
It would have even made more sense if Khaol had allowed River to be killed because he wanted him to be turned to a god or something but for the selfish reason of being reunited with an old flame despite all the live and care River showed him is just too hard to stomach.
They didn’t even bother to give him a proper burial. The author took it way too far and I can’t fathom it.
It kinda reminds me of the Game of Thrones series with the shitty ending. I mean, one wonders how Khaleesi who was so loving and kind to slaves and innocents suddenly became mad in the space of a few final episodes and became like her « Mad Father » so much so that she had to be killed off. Same with Khaol. He might not have loved River at first when they got married but he did show him enough care and concern. So how did he just turn around to be so horrible and now Heil who had me so worried at the beginning of the story is now like a « Breath of fresh air » for River?Who turns a villain into a protagonist in the middle of a webtoon and a protagonist into a villain with no warning or anything.
It makes little sense to me and I just have to drop it and move on for the sake of my sanity.
If the author insists on shipping Heil with River finally and after all of this, Khaol still gets a happy ending with Kaveri, then this is all just a huge injustice and shit fest.
Plus, it seems the webtoon is even slightly different from the novel so I don’t just get it.

I agree maybe it was too sudently but all that big plot switch, turning the supposed villain into the good guy, (or rather, being led to believe by the narrative that Khaol was the good guy) is the best thing about the whole history. Since the beggining I couldn't stand how khaol treated River, I almost stopped reading it midway thinking that River would still be with Khaol after all the shit he did, so even if Heil didn't show up as a rival, Khaol and River staying together would be worse than the plot holes that exist in order to change that.

I think it’s time to stop reading this and wait for the chapters to go far. The angst is near.
I have never loved and been interested in a second couple so much while reading any webtoon as much I love this couple. I keep coming back to read about them and I hope the author would write a new story just about the two of them. It would make me so happy.
I was reading the novel and believe me, their relationship gets better. I couldn’t finish reading the novel cos the translations were terrible. I tried my best to stick around but I just couldn’t. The grammar was so bad I started to have a headache. Like, it was so difficult to understand no matter how hard I struggled so I gave up. The only correct translation only has 13 chapters and I pray the translator would continue with it. Gosh!

I think I know the translator you're talking about. They unfortunately dropped the novel and will not continue translating. The last translated chapter was 13 :(
