This reply is going to be very long so pardon me in advance.
The thing is, Jaekyung reminds me a lot of Seugnho from Painter of the Night because even though they were both terrible to the MC, they were also the only people, apart from family, to be kind to them and treat them like they were special without looking down on them. This is why despite how much Nakyum hated Seignho, he still could admit to himself that Seungho, in his own twisted way, still cares for him and shows concern for him where necessary.
As for Jaekyung, I would not go as far as to call him a rapist because he did pay for Kim Dan’s services and didn’t force himself on him. At most, I would call it dubious consent, not outright rape like Seungho did to Nakyum after the first time. Also, Doc Dan knew what he was getting into and still accepted the terms just so he could take care of his grandma. I still want to know how Jaekyung would react once he realizes that Doc Dan is not all about the money and that he had no choice but to sleep with him. He still believes that Doc Dan is used to sleeping with other people for money.
Also, as an avid yaoi reader, I have come to realize that I cannot always be too picky. Most of these BL stories always have rape between the ML and MC and I don’t know why authors do that but I have come to somewhat tolerate it. Where I will always draw the line is gangrape or rape being perpetuated by the villain or another character that is not the ML. This is because most times, there isn’t a suitable punishment for those characters and the MC is expected to just move on after that. I also hate a story where rape is added to the plot just for the sake of it and does not in anyway drive the story forward. I either never read them or I just drop them immediately, if i mistakenly pick it up to read. An example of this is Kiss Me, Liar. Thankfully, I heard that the rape done by another Alpha on the MC was removed in the manhwa but finding out that it happened in the novel was enough to make me stop reading it because there was just no point to it.
That being said. I am yet to see anyone here commending Jaekyung for what he did to Doc Dan. All I see is people commending him for his beauty and trying to make people understand that he is not all bad, which is what I believe Shiki and the others are doing. So how does that translate to fetishizing rape? Just because they chose to see the good side of Jaekyung despite everything else? Even I have been ripping him apart in the comment section but I also know he is not a completely terrible person. What I call fetishizing rape is someone actively cheering when their favorite character forces himself on the MC, tries to deliberately misinterpret an act of rape being done on that character by saying it was “sexy or hot”, or praying for their character to have a chance to sleep with the MC even though it is clear that the MC doesn’t want it. A good example of this is ENNEAD, where people were happy that Seth got gangraped; were pretending like him being raped by the foreign god was sexy when in truth, he did not want it; or praying for his son, Anubis, to have a chance to rape him too. I will never applaud such a story because that is what it means to fetishize rape.
The only story with a gangrape that I will read and keep reading is Kiraide Isasete because the author was able to portray it in a very mature way without traumatizing the readers. They actively expressed how bad it was and also made sure the character was able to process and heal from it. It was also what the story was built on and they did it so well that I actually forgot that it happened and just focused on the happiness and the healing afterwards. In fact, it ended since but it had to be renewed for average seasons because of the positive feedback the author kept getting. Now we have a new volume. You have to read it to understand what I mean but it is the one of the best BLs I have ever read. The author is a gem.
So far, no one under my comment has tried to fetishize the things Jaekyung did to Doc Dan so I don’t get why that fellow is acting all menopausal all over my comment.
What the author is trying to portray is the complexity of a character like Jaekyung who no matter how much you hate him, you also cannot help but love him because he has his sweet moments. This is why Doc Dan fell in love with him. I would not reduce his character to just a rapist or just an asshole (Although I have called him an asshole more times than I can count because of how much he hurt my Danny).

Geom was kidnapped,confined,raped and gang raped by these people. He was maintained flawlessly and was given a Director title but the truth is that he was sold as a prostitute to any men by the chairman who also consumed him. Imagine that? He was even sold to a young,famous and handsome prosecutor who watched him drugged and consumed by many men inside a hotel room,and he also consumed Geom.
