I stayed up all night reading it and I loved it so much, only for me to read the chapter where he got gangraped by those dirty, old men. It felt like I had just gotten the wind knocked out of me and mehn, I cried so much. Then I dropped it and after a while, I decided to check if things had progressed for the better, only to be met with the chapter of him getting raped by the foreign god. That was the last straw. I even went to the author’s twitter page and saw her justifying the rapes, comparing Seth to a piece of cake where everyone gets to have a slice until we are left with Horus who gets to have the biggest slice as the endgame. That was it for me. To say I was disgusted by that logic would be a gross understatement. Of course, as usual, readers were elated with everyone hoping their favorite character gets to have a piece too (the chance to rape Seth) and we even have Anubis’ fans eagerly praying that he also gets a turn.
I just hope Seth finally gets to have the happy ending he deserves after all of this but I would not be joining him in that paradise.
