ok so I only read the chapters uploaded so far but basically, the emperor's a perv and is coming onto his stepdaughter(the fl) now that she is of age, and she doesn't want to be his concubine but she can't just run away because she would be leaving her brother alone since their mom is dead. Their mom was a dancer that was forced to divorce her husband and marry the king she is the daughter of the first husband so she isn't related to the emperor or his blood, so to protect her family, position, and virtue she asks the first prince to make her his concubine. (He is also most the likely heir to the throne)
right off the bat we see that she is cunning and smart, she is good at appealing to people and she figures things out quickly and she has a strong sense of responsibility. Its promising but I cant attest to further chapters.
