It's because the entire situation is absolutely hilarious. The naive mc, who lets others take advantage of him to the point he seems too dumb to live, turns out to be unexpectedly good at taking care of small children, whereas the dad and his gangsters are so hilariously inept, that even a complete dork like the mc seems to be able to understands the baby more than they do... The mc, true to his tradition of stupidly letting others take advantage, lets himself get stuck in this situation of taking care of someone else's kid (a *ganster's* kid, of all people) yet even this may eventually seem like an "improvement" in his rotten luck and circumstances, given the fact that the gangster and his men unexpectedly turn out to be much more decent ( recovering his passport, clearing his debts, paying him a salary and extras etc etc) than the scummy "normal people" that the mc previously hung out with (i.e. the ex boyfriend)... I mean, the entire situation is one huge irony.
Yeah the comedy is so GREAT and characterisation too, that's why i'm still here eheh, because this are the strong points of this story AND IT'S GREAT
But the rest...? HMMMMMMM we'll seee
