This trope is so overused in BL.. its crazy. Also, its the weird implication the children that are not genetically related to each other and to their parents will NEVER be family. Why is that an implication? It's so harmful for actualy people that are adopted. An adopted child is a child. It's not one of my own and one adopted, it's 2 of my own regardless. Siblings who grow up together are also brothers especially if they were raised like brothers, acknowledged each other as brothers for majority of their life. That doesn't just become romantic one day. It's unnatural.
I'm not mad with the brother thing; I'm just upset it wasn't written well. Like why? Stop adding every trope just because you can without any logic! There are some stories where it is done well and even makes sense. In those scenarios, they never considered each other as siblings, may have even grew up separately, or had been in love since young so it isnt a weird brother to lover change. This though? Its ick.

That's what I said? When I say it isn't written well, I mean that the whole basis of their relationship needs to be different. His father shouldnt have raised him through infancy, IT'S MAJOR ICK that the author even mentioned that. Maybe one of them goes to boarding school and are practically strangers to each other. Regardless, there needs to be a scenario where the 2 characters were NOT raised from infancy to adulthood, did not EVER have feelings of brotherhood/sisterhood, did NOT have the same familial ties to the parents either. Instead the author half-assed it just to add another trope in.
I mean, I don't see why we have to sexualize/romanticize every affectionate interaction they have when little potat is older. Just because he's a fully grown adult doesn't mean it's weird. I think given the character of papa wolf and his whole "no touch! No affection!" Vibes, it makes sense that he'd be nervous and almost secretly excited to hug him and stuff. I hug and kiss my mum and dad all the time.
