I think if it wasn't for Tomo, Misuzu wouldn't have any friends at all. Maybe I am wrong, but maybe Tomo is some sort of "relief" to Misuzu. She knows her bad side, she knows who she is and still stays with her, still thinks of her as a friend, if not a sister.
Maybe Tomo gave Misuzu more things than the eyes can see, and if she goes to Jun, she is afraid she might lose them..
It's nice how much of an impact Zeff has over others. I mean, I think it is possible to assume that before Zeff went back to the past, that female knight was Milly's first comrade. But, even though Milly has a good heart, she is very innocent and air headed. In other words, if it wasn't for Zeff, Milly wouldn't ever realize her friend is being physically abused. Maybe that's what led that female knight to do what she did in the future.
If no one ever saved her like Zeff did, years and years of being abused and no one around you ever realizing anything at all... even the kindest person would break down. Well, this is just an assumption, but it will be nice to see how much more Zeff will change things.
Either your assumption and the majority of our assumption of why Claude betrayed Millie is true or another option of what happened could be that maybe Millie being the way she is could have used up all her mana and ended up killing herself. Thus Claude having the magic and turning it in, but disappearing afterwards?

Her crush wasn't built up enough for me to care and the arc made her look like a hypocrite. She's flirted with Jun before. Multiple times. That's apparently ok. But if Tomo is nice to Misaki it means war. Anyway can't help it and while I don't hate her I don't like her as much as I used to. It doesn't help that I am really really not invested in Carol/Misaki. Misaki is a stale white bread version of Jun.
She used to be my fave character, but I agree with you: they didn't work up the crush on senpai enough to justify this insane jealousy of hers that made her do something "line-crossing" with Jun and to Tomo. Fortunately for her, Tomo is cool and Jun isn't a flirt.
But yes, she's been jealous, spiteful, manipulative, and now she's being smug with Misuzu--challenging smug. I'm starting to dislike her.
don't project RL too much on a manga. especially on a comedy-centric one. carol's whole existence is supposed to be an outlier character for comical purposes.
