You stuffed the whole thing full of wood and charcoal! The fire will suffocate and die if you do that! Start with two logs a few inches apart and put something between them that burns easily like dried grass or wood shavings. After you light it close the door enough that it will restrict the air flow to the ignition source. After the fire has started then add one more log on top. Yeesh, I don't know why I am explaining this....
