To understand this, there are two major scheming part involved in this novel. The first scheme is not aimed at his company , they robbed one of his projects to steal money (in episode 30, there’s his cousin who involved in gambling debts and they used him as a scapegoat in stealing three houses which worth more than tens of millions yuans, but actually his cousin only gained 3 million yuan for his debt, and ML and half-brother use that money and establish a company which is now in this chapter named as a puppet company and robbed his current project) so that’s the first scheme.
The 2nd scheme is that Half-bro directly sabotage him and kinda manipulates ML but actually ML is being petty also as Suiying has already parted with him after he found the truth here. Literally when MC has everything, he’s not obedient so he just wanna clip his wings here kinda. But he initially think it was unacceptable to aim for his company and this revenge is going too far so he resisted ( he and MC is still dating in this phase). So ML thinks first scheme is acceptable as he’s a kind of holier than thou person and Suiying did bully his half-brother so he deserves some compensation. That’s why he helped the first scheme.
He didn’t confess that he loved MC when he was asked in upcoming chapters because he is not sure so he didn’t answer. But what I think here is he doesn’t like Jian Suiying as a person because their personalities are very different plus his definition of loving means u want to cherish and protect that person and in this case Suiying doesn’t need his protection and in addition to that he’s destructive and also capable of harming others. But he likes having a sexual relationship with him and he doesn’t want MC to be with other people either. So it’s complicated but I don’t think it’s part of scheme.
