You think that’s a unpopular opinion but I’ve been reading this ever since it was here and it had gotten a lot of hate at first because of the rape but a lot of people are liking it now and think that also.
Yeah his character development is freat and a lot of people like him now, the manga portraited him as a total fucked up scumbag for first couple of chapters like 4-5 chapters but then you can see his actual intentions.
I understand this, but also the reason others are after Azusa is because of Karino. Like Azusa was a terrible person and that's why other hated him but then Karino was like "you guys can rape him," then he was like "He belongs to me"after he wore Azusa's will to fight down. If Karino hadn't of brought it up things wouldn't have escalated like that
karino was always interested in azusa before he was even king.
You think him doing that in the first chapter is to save Azusa but it really isn’t. He was doing it for entertainment at first.
I have watched the anime but didn't understand what duanmu actually wants with jinghua, like what is the secret he keeps saying that he wants him to live on even if he's dead and whats up with the forbidden runes he keeps studying ?

okay so in the second season you see someone else that looks just like Jinghua and a white-haired man that block his eyes. that white hair guy is someone very powerful reincarnation that live and died once, kind of like a god that can ruin the whole world if he wants too, but he died by the guy he love.
now Jinghua is the reincarnation of this god, if he dies this god power will open and he be free to do whatever he wants. to stop him and protect the world from his destructive powers duanmu had to keep Jinghua spirit on earth, Jinghua can't die! this is why duanmu made a deal with the white hair reincarnation that he will keep Jinghua safe until the end of his life no matter what happens.
