So apparently el finds out what his mom experienced after 16(?) years in the first timeline and feels super guilty for not even acknowledging her and then takes out his anger on his dad who he locks up like his dad locked her up. Ml dies in regret for not treating her better and wishes for a chance to treat them both better, so it’s from his desire that she goes back in time. Him putting in the baby in her arms after her hesitation is (probably) bc he knows what happened in the first timeline of when the baby rejected her bc she didn’t hold him the first time
