i shouldn’t have to be used to it, but i am. the constant comics with characters that mention r@pe or, even worse, actually acting on them. i don’t know, man. as a mlm artist, i find myself tangled in reading bls (fluff and smut) and not being able to stop once i’m started. i’ve conditioned myself to “get used to” seeing rapist tendencies in characters. this manhwa is a bad example, but i love reading them for not only the story, but also the art (once again, this one doesn’t really fall under “story”). this one is smutty, but the main characters have a cute shyness to them when it comes to the idea of romance and i find it charming. god but wtf why do creators make characters have a rapist mindset like that’s the only thing they can do to make the readers see the character as “bad”???? why is that the only option.
anyways if you’ve read this far, idc if you want to lecture me on how it’s fiction and not real and that “most of us aren’t impressionable 12 year olds who don’t know better”. look, i understand that. that still doesn’t make it justified. (and tbh you would be surprised at how many people romanticize rape just because two characters are in a relationship. i’ve seen so many comments of “omg cute” and “nooo don’t do that (≧∀≦)” )
