Love this concept. I always thought that it would be great if mcs reincarnate in actual real and popular stories and not some made up book. Especially Snow White. Although you don't find someone attractive initially, whether because you knew them as a kid or they're a friend you never really considered before, you're bound to think about it once they confess to you. So as long as someone is legal, and the older person wasn't the one who initiated the relationship, I'm fine.

I agree with you. I do understand that at some time was quite common for cousins (distant or not) to marry... and that they marrying would guarantee his loyalty (kinda) to the family. BUT not only were they raised together but her father practically adopted him recognizing him as family and they do know they are somehowblood related. And that makes it effed up.
The reason why its considered effed up to marry a blood relative is because of the possible genetic mutation it may cause to their offsprings. Ciel and the MCs blood relation is as thin as the possibility of them ending up together. Its literally non-existent at this point, having been dilluted by time. I dont agree with them ending up together, but i honestly hate the fact that people are hating on Ciel just because she has a crush on the MC. Shes a great character, strong and mischievous, but people already consider her as annoying just because shes a female character who happens to have the slightest bit of romantic inclination towards the MC.
Nah... personally I don't hate her. She's less annoying than many female characters out there. Honestly I think that as a potential love interest she is less annoying than the mage (going by their interactions with mc).
On the other side, I disagree about it being about offspring. It may have been the initial reason for intermarriage in general to become a taboo but for today's morals and ethics that's not the only reason. Proof is that even in same-sex relationship it is still viewed very poorly. Same with step or adopted siblings in most places.
I understand she having a crush on him, he's pretty fine. But there's a difference between crush between childhood friends and distant relatives raised together (her parents disgusted me a lil in thinking of marrying them tbh). As someone who have both adopted siblings and was raised as siblings with their cousins it just doesn't sit well with me. And the fact that there's a lot of adopted female mc X biological child ml rofan around and all those they don't see each other as family/they aren't blood related in the comments to justify being into fauxcest (ince between step/adopted relatives) instead of just admitting beint into a taboo kink is just... tiring... but again, that's influenced by my life experiences.
