Casarius is the old jeezer from the beginning. He schemed to infect her husband and child to get her to marry him because he was lusting over her beauty. That explain why she feels so responsible.

But he's dead of the same plague though so it's a win !!

It's bc that douche casarius sold her daughter, and promised to find her again if she married him, but he dead before he could so she's come to a mindset that she died to the plague

I totally get what you mean. I think in his case though he had been wanting to already quit for a while, this just gave him more reason to want to do it.

Ciel is the main character. She was originally not in this world (currently dont really have info of her original world), the world that she did not come from is from a BOOK. Okay, now the character she reincarnated as is a minor character called Ciel.

Ciel was a commoner and was abused. One day she escaped from the hell hole and was found by a maid and was taken in. Ciel was taken in as a maid and yeah.

OKAY, basically once she became a maid, she was in the mansion of the duke(?) the villain of the story/book. He was poisoned in the book and out of reflex she saved him then remembering that he was the villain lol. But how she saved him was drinking the poison itself cos they didnt believe her. Ciel drank the poison but didn't die somehow, instead was turned into her younger self (3-6 years old). To reward her for her deed, the duke gives her gold. BUTTTT shes endanger somehow idk remember. So to help her he makes her be adopted by this 'monster' family. (their powerful btw)

She then gets taken, but she aint yet adopted. Ciel has tests to be adopted cos she has to fit the theme 'monster' idk. The 1st test was history and intelligence, she had to study the history behind the family. The 2nd test was to drink several strong poisons but there is a antidote BUTT if she takes tthe antidote she fails the test. Basically she has to drink all of them and survive. THE FINAL test issss........... we dont know since the chapters aint updating lol

Tha author mentioned they would focus on Yuiji's pov in the chapters to come so we'll get a better understanding then for how he feels! As of yet, it does seem more like platonic love than romantic but with the right development I'm sure that'll change (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
