I think that’s too much. How could they have known that she was allergic to those flowers? The Duke hid it from them, and obviously it would be impossible for them to find out because Charlize would not go near those flowers again... It is the Duke’s fault, not theirs.

“Even if it is hidden it should be found out eventually.” How would that even be possible? You may be angry at them, but that’s not reasonable. They would not have known. It is the Duke’s fault, and the Duke’s fault only. They only wanted to be kind and give her a genuine present for her birthday, obviously it’s too late to make up, but still. You cannot blame them.

... In addition, considering the environment they were in, they definitely wouldn’t have known. They ignored her most, if not all, the time.

It is the dukes fault, but it is also theirs. They never bothered to see what was dangerous to her or not. They turned a blind eye and if they really paid attention they would have known. The maid easily spilled the beans when they asked her about the fl's condition. It wasn't even hidden that well. But they still didn't know. What does that say about them?

I mean to be fair the brothers were also children, not saying they didn't do anything wrong but I place the problem to the father as he is the one who manipulated his children into thinking that chat was a murderer and should be ignored. They wouldn't know anything was wrong with her as they live in a really huge house, I bet they rarely even see each other considering their father wouldnt let them even play with each other. It is so toxic but I still asympathize also with the brothers, they were just children and the moment that she's h one they were already too late.

They might have never found out but I feel like they could have known. If all of a sudden super rare flowers were replaced wouldn't you have noticed?? It is not completely their fault but they are at fault.

How could they have been at fault if they were only children at the time? What could they have done? You can’t fault someone for their ignorance.

They had years to find out, children grow. Ignorance is a sin. It's kinda like saying, whoops I accidentally killed dad. I didn't know their was bleach in his tea. Guess it's not my fault

I hope you’re not serious about ignorance being sin. But I digress. How would they have had years to find out if they ignored her existence, and it was hidden by the Duke from them? They wouldn’t have. There is no if’s ands or buts about the situation of them finding out. They couldn’t have. They didn’t have any contact with her maids and ignored her existence. It is not their fault that they did not know about her being allergic to those flowers.

Either way, I don’t want to argue about something so futile for too long. Let’s just agree to disagree.

How LONG are we gonna argue about this? It's their fault and it isn't. Is that good enough for you??? Their not completely innocent but not completely guilty either. I still have put them in the bad category though. Neglect is also abuse. But that's up to me, are we done yet or not????!!!
