It’s not the same in east Asian countries as it is in western society. Western society is far more liberal in its views whereas east Asia is still very much conservative. I don’t know why they are so conservative when they created eunuchs for the sole purpose of sodomy and preventing men from having affairs with women while serving them but they are still very much anti-gay and prioritise traditional “family” values. And although the west does discriminates, Korea is worse. He’s just not ready to face that discrimination just yet. Remember that he’s in his early 20s and adores his family and friends. He doesn’t want to lose them and he’s still at an age where losing friends does feel like the end of the world.
