the manga is in his perspective, and while I haven't tried the audio drama, the short drama really puts it into perspective of how much of a mess MC is. a lot of the (manga) setting reaffirms his beliefs, but that's only in the perspective of the readers. he really is overthinking and making guesses about everything. it's about time they bring up a fail in the manga
I’ve reread the earlier chapter and I dont think author pointed out WHEN exactly did mc found out hes living in BL world, all he said was the conversation gradually turned from girls to ‘girly guys’ during his school days. So my theory is that since Hatano fell for him since they were younger so Hatano’s feelings werent moved due to this BL setting. His feelings were genuine and pure, just like any normal human being in the real world, thats why theres no BL flag to destroy

My fave chapter of all time is when the mc was telling hatano all the adult things he’s interested in (to discourage him) and it was from hatanos pov and he just looked so cool. Like our mc is actually cool guys, we forget cuz we’re always in his head
his stupid blank stares look a lot like reigen's from Mob Psycho 100 (coincidentally the name has mob in it lol)
