I think I’d be into a version of this story where the protagonist acts more aware of his influence over the Seme and uses it to his advantage. It’d be interesting to see the Uke pretend to be agreeable and lovey dovey to save his people but tries to secretly plan their escape.
I feel that Ji Ning for all his bravado could be quite easily swayed by the MC’s tears and sweet/dependent act.
