She can literally tell him “I don’t want to marry you” and then end it like...
Or since she seems to be into it, she can just marry her friend, and "hey sorry, can't marry you, already married, bye!".
Divorce takes time, so he would not be able to change anything in front of his family.
But this is a story about stupid helpless people who can't operate like adults.
