Sensei portrayed the reality of how someone who's hurting badly won't hesitate to be mean and lash out at the other party, disregarding whatever the other party may be going through. I've experienced this myself so many times and this whole chapter just resonates with me alot. Mr Fahrenheit's note made my chest ache so much I can't stop crying
