I’ve read a lot of yaoi, and I actually liked the premise of each story; old but hot daddy VA x bratty but sexy VA, the lonely masturbating-loving teacher x student, the wants-to-be-sweet dom x takes-everything-and-more sub, and the mpreg with forbidden childhood friends.
All are good storylines, BUT EACH SEME IS TRASH. UTTERLY TRASH.

Like that isn’t toxic at all smh (okay honestly the teacher one isn’t bad, seme was nice ig, but he was a minor so yiKES). The dom was disgusting imo, where’s the safe words? Consent? Communication is important in bdsm don’t just treat him like a dog without knowing if he’s okay with it! And the last one was pure trash. He raped his friend, and wanted his friend to be okay with it (also there was just a ton of rape in general in that one since it’s insinuated the race needs to do that).

I completely agree with this. The first story is the only one i was like “eh this isn’t that bad” but then the “romance” was super rushed and annoying at the end and with all the other ones i was completely like “ew what is wrong with these characters”

And the relationship gets developed so poorly, She likes him cause of his scent, and badassness (basically, as he saved her) and he likes her cause...? Yea exactly there isn’t any other reason other than she’s cute when she blushes (and I guess she’s the only S-rank female so it just works out perfectly).

Well, you will see soon in the future the development in romance. They very much suit each other, and the two will have more scenes to develop their feelings more, be it Cha or Jin-woo. They both genuinely love each other and just so you know, Jin-woo is the best and most faithful husband to his wife. I don’t see why you’re hating on the romance. I love shonen with little to no romance, and this story is one of those kind of stories. The romance is very subtle, but genuine and it helps create more depth to Jin-woo’s character. It never actually interfered with the story, instead helped the MC be more relatable and we get to see other side of him after becoming the strongest hunter. This is not the typical annoying shonen romance you see everywhere.
"and he likes her cause...?" if yu had been paying attention he noticed her abilities being way above the norm all along the way, and he's been respecting her the whole time. Even (spoiler-short term) refusing her in the guild is because he doesn't want he to waste her abilities since he fights solo. Same goes for her, he got her attention because he didn't smell but that's just the start she's been paying attention to him even when he was hiding as a miner-hunter. And what's wrong with a bad ass character having feelings and being embarrassed in a social situation? Happens to male heroes too... Maybe you're the one that hasn't been paying attention...
I read the novel, and honestly I like the role he plays as a faithful husband (which you can expect cause he already really cares for his family members), but still did not enjoy the romance bc of how it started and how rushed it felt. I would’ve just liked it to be kept as pure shounen (since we basically never see that), or I would’ve enjoyed it more if she wasn’t the stereotypical fall-in-love-with-MC female lead that’s usually presented in shounen.
So he respects her. Great, not like that’s already expected of any decent MC. And I know he doesn’t want her to waste her abilities, but again I don’t see that as romance development, more as just respect he has for any of his colleagues. Having to justify his love for her through that reasoning is... not what love is? Yes, later on he understands her and they are able to confide in each other, but ultimately I didn’t particularly care for the romance here (it seemed like the main reason the author had them together was she was the only female S-rank in South Korea).

ah also the "respects her" is not how I meant it, it's not like person a respects person b in regular life, it's in the sense he respects her as a top hunter. In the novel (and a few times in the manwha as well) he goes over several times how she's stronger than the rest of S class hunters, and even more so than the guy heading the guild she's in, and how she's skilled. As a matter of fact her strength/skill is more inferred by what he says/thinks than seeing her fight, we've only really seen her fight like a couple of times and once she almost died.

Seme is so fishy, like we have no clue what he’s thinking. We know he needs the money from this job, and although he might like Soha, it seems like he’s trying to have both Ray and Soha safe and the money. That’s not ideal in this situation. It’s either one or the other. Ray knows this.

Jiang (seme) is a horrible bastard. Manipulated him (made him break off his relationships with others till he was basically ‘dependent’ on him), treated him like some sugar baby (when he owned like 30% shares and the company was originally his), abused him (mentally, verbally and physically), raped him (till he was fucking bleeding everywhere), and had the audacity to act like nothing happened after each one of these acts.
He fucked up that other kid’s life too (Chen) by using him as a side thing without that kid knowing anything. Chen was drawn to the darker side of the world bc of him, and then died pitifully (with no one to remorse his death). Seme had the audacity to say ‘I’ll see you later’ to Chen while he was trying to find the uke and stuff; meaning he prob was still gonna keep Chen as a mistress and cheat on our MC. (Chen wasn’t all innocent either, but he deserved better than what happened to him).
I have absolutely no remorse for this piece of shit, I was happy seeing him get sick and waste away his life. Fuck him. Fuck all the mental stress you put on these two boys.
And that doctor. I did find it pretty unprofessional how he was acting to our MC, but you know what? He did his best to make MC feel safe and enjoy his last days. He took care of him, and helped him mentally, while putting his heart and head through so much turmoil. It can’t be easy falling in love with someone whose ready to die and still in love with a pile of trash. He was a good person, and my fav character here.
