Actually it’s really smart. His problem isn’t particularly that he wants his son to get married to a woman, it’s just that the Uke is more independent and still wants to work despite being an Ama. Don't apologize, luv. I understood the point you were trying to make and I agree. He's not "smart" because he's trying to just ruin his son's relationship, he's "smart" because he's trying to prevent his species from dying out. He just so happens to be going about it in a gross and archaic way. I also think something has happened in his past to make his way of thinking so warped, we're just not there yet in the story. I think a lot of times, readers forget about the "beast" dynamic in the story and expect them to handle all situations like humans when they are not.
With all that said, he's still foul as fuck for trying to separate his sons family.
