My only criticism art-wise is that the kissing scenes look awkward, like the mangaka can't seem to depict kissing properly (noticed this in their other work too). I also wish Ellie's mom wasn't such a pedo perv. Imagine if it was a dad character drooling over a girlfriend his teen son brought home. This was just as disgusting.
I think the kissing scenes that look awkward are a very good depiction of what its like to have your first kiss.. and the way they do it is full of pure emotions and puppy love
About ellie’s mom i think its pretty “normal” sometimes for parents to admire good looking children, i mean some boomers will compliment you for being good looking. Idk about u but its common in asia for teenagers to be asked wether we have a bf/gf for being good looking and that we’ve grown
You probably missed seeing the mom literally drooling at the thought of walking in on a teen guy alone in the guest room. Before then, she was also depicted caking on makeup to appeal to him. It's all played for comedy, but it's still disturbing. As for the kissing, they've done it so many times by the latter chapters, I don't think it's still meant to depict an awkward first kiss.

Not sure if it's the same for all writers, but I've developed a love-hate relationship with a second male lead I created. I like him in isolation, but I became bitter after he grew more popular than I planned among readers. So though I felt bad for him when his time to exit the drama came, a part of me felt sadistic pleasure because it's like some well-deserved punishment for him for interfering in the first place. (And yeah, I know it's twisted since I'm the one who made him do all that, but I just really wanted my main pairing to be more popular lmao) This is all to say, don't root too hard for the second male lead—at least not where the writer can see it. They just might take it out that much harder on the second male lead as a consequence XD
