First of all, the ones who should be outside are guards. Even if there was a maid, the guards should still be there. Having said that, supposed maid would act like a guard, standing there in wait. On the other hand, as u said, that maid in the manga was roaming around. Even if she was supposedly getting a job done, you can't just go there throught the corridor where the lord is sleeping.
Idk. Personally I don’t see it like that. She is Rin’s head maid so she could be there to like check in on her or in case she needed something. The one about guards is true idk why there aren’t any. But personally I don’t see a problem with head maid being around her lady’s room, after all she is in charged of that room and taking care of that person
Yeh i also agree with that possibility but, as u said, and as it seemed to have been shown, she was "roaming around" like, she was just passing and here's the thing, how could anyone be allowed to just pass by the lord's corridor when he sleeping? Idk it just doesn't sit well w me lol
Idk overall his kingdom and like people around Rin seemed pretty free. Like also as Rin is his daughter shouldn’t she have more then one guard? And guards outside of corridor? I think that their like castles and like jobs there seem pretty chill in comparisons with like normal ones

I was emphasizing on the lord being there bcuz his status is more important, hence why it is more imperative for there to be guards. And yeh, they do seem chill about it and that's why we were discussing it, bcuz it doesn't seem alright since manga castles and such don't normally work like that.
