i believe it's still a happy ending tho. sasya dying and fulfilling his dream -im not entirely sure abt old age but he was sick but he was already old by then, so i guess that counts??? and karel sticking to his promise of dedicating his life to sasya.
and i think the ending also explained that the house that they previously stayed (or was it the mansion) was turned into a museum dedicated to sasya and karel's descendant (or was it a reincarnation....?) is managing it
