I don't know if it's just me, but I'm a person who values and lives by boundaries. Anybody who crosses my boundaries will get cut off. And this is why I don't completely understand the Kangjoon sympathizers. I feel his position as "just a friend" is pitiful and all, but I pity the position. Not the character. Multiple times this man has crossed lines that should have never been crossed, so I don't feel feel anything for him atp. Call me heartless, I don't really care. But I'll explain myself a bit more so you can at least understand me.
A lot of comments sympathizing with Kangjoon say "If your friend had ditched you when you had plans wouldn't you be upset?" Or "He's losing his crush, don't y'all feel bad?" And I mean yeah, I would be pissed at my friend for ditching me for something like that. If I had a crush, yea I admit it, I'd be sad. But I would stay in my lane as a FRIEND. I wouldn't walk over to the man/woman my crush/friend is seeing and declare "THAT'S MY MAN/GIRL. BACK OFF." I wouldn't corner my friend into only hanging out with me bc I felt threatened by their lover. That's just too much.
One, he's being inappropriate with his jealousy. And by inappropriate, I mean it's not his place to be jealous and possessive. Two, whether he wants to be with Jiwon or wanted to bite him, he should've done that a long time ago. They were close before Jiwon met someone else and he had a chance. He's just butthurt bc he didn't make a move fast enough. It's not invalid for him to have these feelings but it crosses the line when he puts his hands on Jiwon and places authority over him. There's a way to handle things and the way he's doing it ain't right. I don't even think he's in his right mind when he says half the shit he says to be honest.
So in summary, I agree with y'all as a person who's been in the role of the thirdwheeler and the "discarded friend" but I can't understand how you can feel that bad for this character. Somebody really needs to tell his ass off and put him in his place. I feel bad for Jiwon who has to deal with him. But I'm done with my TedTalk! Thanks to everyone who reads this<333
