This is the part that is so unnecessary.
MC knows he could solve both their problems and get revenge on his completely vile birth family in one fell swoop.

He has the same hair length, the same haircut, the same body, and if the veil didn't matter then the author wouldnt have made it the heart of the mystery. I'm not the one who said that the key element in hiding his identity was the veil, the author is. And you know why? Because it's bad writing.

I know you want to be a " kind reader" and try to be understanding by coming up with explanation that the author themselves isn't giving, but from my 13 years if experience reading BL, I can tell you know it's genuinely judst that shitty veil. And you'll see that I'm right I'm the "grand reveal". You'll be greatly disappointed but at least next time you'll be able to predict the story better.

You can stay "pretty sure", the story itself will prove you wrong, so I won't add anything because that's the type of analysis learning that you can only get by failing to predict, like you are right now.
