preferably little to no smut, super slow-burn and satisfying relationships, great worldbuilding and plot, and it actually has to be a reverse harem ending. straight, bl, and even gl is fine. could be any forms of media: manhwa, manhua, manga, and even webnovels.

contains nuanced themes of friendship, family, romance, and self-development. a wholesome and charming story featuring a diverse cast of likable (or at least well-written) characters, witty and funny dynamics, mc's friendships that is constantly evolving and never fizzling out, romance with an adorable himbo with a capital H, interwoven with engaging subplots and side couples.

don't tell me they're gonna kill off the viable love interests, like yomi and yatori, just so she'll end up with sol. i mean i get why sol would be ml but my heart doesnt want him. anyway someone plz spoil it for me if it's canon that he is ml

that early scene in which jerome threw raymond into the swamp and he nearly drowned and simon's betrayal pretty much establishes their entire dynamic thru out the story. jerome will continuously put him in dangerous situations, but will save him in the most crucial moment, and simon who seems tamed will always betray raymond.

and it is no exaggeration when i say it's a goddamn masterpiece. i can ramble on and on about it. it's incredibly gutwrenching. yes, there is Stockholm syndrome but it's written incredibly well and realistic. one of the best Stockholm syndrome and enemies-to-lovers stories I've ever read. the usage of first-person perspective is executed to perfection. all characters except for hugh and a couple of named characters elicited some sympathy from me to some degree, even if they are twisted. and jerome? I'm hooked, captivated, i hate him yet i love him. he is mysterious and full of contradictions. he's so morally black yet he's so humane. his backstory is very similar to mc's. he never admits it, but it's clear he loves mc from his actions as the story progresses, yet sometimes he still does things that hurt him. even then, his motivations are clear even if it's not explicitly conveyed. him and mc... they have my heart, and i will probably still be thinking about them even after finishing the story.

the first part is what makes the story more interesting than other OIs, but now that it's over, if it devolves into another generic romance-centric plot, i think ill drop it.

so... i started reading the novel, and i am shook. they legit nonchalantly gang-raped him and then after the deed, they discarded him on the ground like trash and proceeded to talk leisurely with one other about dinner while ignoring him. like, wow... it's way worse than non-zero sum. these people are psychopaths. throw away any notion that they could have an iota of good. they are not morally grey- they are straight-up black. i heard jerome is the ml, but considering the brutal nature of the story, i can't imagine there would be any cathartic redemption from him. but if i have to say one thing so far that makes him better than the others, it's that he never hid his violent despicable crazy self from the beginning, while the other two did

ngl...kaya's character is my guilty pleasure.

peak slow-burn yuri + horror

it's been a while since ive read historical drama manhuas... but damn has the quality been improving all these years? the pacing and storytelling is pretty shit, like most manhuas, but the plot points and developments and character depth are solid. and, will this even be an actual reverse harem? considering the mc ran away from a wedding with five grooms, she probably hates the idea

i have read stories where the mc ended up with their past bullies, but i had no problems with said stories bc the author never tried to write off their relationship as wholesome and "just a misunderstanding". they were toxic, and the characters were twisted. in this case, the author really tried to write off the bullying as something insignificant that never really affected mc's psyche and trust issues (at least to a prominent degree). and the redemption arc was basically an indirect apology and not even a sad backstory. "they were in love with each other all along"? FUCK THAT. if you're not even gonna make a decent attempt at a story with bullying elements, don't even try.

so good but i wish they would stop mentioning how hot saiki is, especially when this art style doesn't exactly convey the full degree of his hot-ness. just those instances of people reacting to his looks are good enough, no need to tell us so much.

a great horror shoujo ai adventure, with genuinely bizarre and creepy horror elements. romance is super slowburn, characters are nuanced with engaging dynamics, esp the protagonists. contains japanese horror story references.
