With telling children how to act as a man or woman from an early age; telling a young girl to not act like a tomboy, telling a boy to not act so feminine. This can be so limiting as a child that they would carry til' adulthood. As a weirdo that grew up in a serious Christian household, you can't even imagine opening up to your parents on topics like this. I once joked to my dad 'what if i have a lover or marry a person of the same sex?', he responded that I should pack my bags early then. After that, I never opened up to any same-sex/lgbt+ discussions again.
In the future that even when I ever have a kid of my own (if), I will let them act as they want to, but all the while keeping the values within as a person.
