I know some people are sick of the damsel in distress types of stories. And this is that type of story. Sp if u dont like it? Leave.
Theres a reason why shes like that. People arent robots built in a company where they were all built in the same way so they are expected to function in the same way.
Miyo grew up being abused, used to being looked down on, been told regularly how she's useless compared to her sister who had spritual abilities. Everything is aggrevated by the fact that she doesnt have one (yet). So of course she doesnt have self-worth when all her life she was thought that is where it will come from.
And when finally she thinks she can live like a normal person and not a doormat everyone can just step on, she meets her sister that reminds her that shes nothing. That she deserves to die because shes nothing better than a servant.
So if her selfworth was already negative af? Where do yall expect her to get some? People around her? Noone taught her self-respect. Noone taught her how to live for herself. So of course shes ready to just die and grovel at her abusers feet when she was literally taught to be like that. Lets say maybe anger can help her back on her feet but where can she even pull that anger from? When in the beginning she also wasnt allowed to be angry because his dad hates her mom and her for being a "cockblock" and gaslights her.
Yeah there are some MCs who suddenly has guts and gets away from that depression. But like what i said, people arent robots. They arent built the same way. They arent nurtured the same way. So dont expect everyone to be that heroine that doesnt need external forces to help her pull herself back on her feet.
