In all honesty there wasn't any definite answer to how or why they fall in love, which is why all the fucked up shit zhenya does to him makes me even wonder why the author didn't even put an effort into building up a relationship between the two. Like I'm not joking there literally isn't anything at all I can think of
I was reading the novel, and their relationship started to change when Zhenya kidnapped Tae, and the beginning he was an animal like he always behaved with him, but Tae tried to run a few times and the crazy guy started getting confused. From what I noticed, Tae got used to being with Zhenya, until Olga arrived xD and Zhenya acted crazy because he was jealous. I do think Tae has the syndrome of Stockholm to be honest, and Zhenya shows that having Tae close he likes it. Is kinda bizarre
