I really loved this story but I fucking hate how they handled them getting together. It was going so well, but then Ian fucking ghosts Laritte for like a year??
I’m so fucking pissed. Laritte is told nothing for no reason. Like, he could’ve just told her that he couldn’t talk to her for a while. They could’ve sent letters. They literally sent letters BEFORE and everything was fine!

I don’t drop stories often, especially when I’ve read so far in, but I just couldn’t continue reading because that was literally the worst and most anticlimactic way for them to get together.
Like, Laritte was the first to confess?? We weren’t even there to see her realize her feelings! She just says it in her sleep?? Like, THERE WAS NO FUCKING BUILD UP OR EMOTIONS. Just a “guess that’s out there”

Reminder that love isn't determined by fixing all of someone's problems. The second prince is a PRINCE. He just happened to have a coma inducing potion around, how was the duke even supposed to compete with that? The second prince didn't visit her once during her coma, nor does he even bother offering her companionship and rarely does he offer her affection. Sure the duke hasn't magically solved all her problems, but he's been there for her every single day.
I have no problem with it of course. I’m just wondering from an author’s standpoint. The author can create any story they want of course, but if you want to create a story with an end couple in mind, why spend so much time showing off another male lead candidate character. Like, the actual male lead barely got a chapter with the fl, so you have a reason to root for them. It just seemed like a really weird way to move the plot along, from a narrative perspective.
As the author, they probably could’ve invented another mcguffin that the Duke’s son is directly involved with. Or, they could’ve made the Duke’s son more involved in the story, just like the Prince, so this disparity in their character isn’t so apparent. It just felt like they developed a second male lead’s character way before the actual male lead’s, so it feels weird from a narrative standpoint that we as readers should root for the real male lead.
They basically gave the second male lead the real male lead treatment and that just baffles me from a storytelling perspective, since even the real male lead’s hasn’t gotten that treatment yet.
You're not wrong, but love is also not determined by how much time does someone spend for you. In the sense that just because be came to visit her, even if he visited everyday, that's something a friend could have done. Sometimes to fall in love it's just a random spark between people. That's why knowing someone for a long time doesn’t mean you'll love them romantically. That's also why I don't really like the black haired dude because she never even wavered for him in the past, and now she will because... He visited her and knows some of her likes.
Anyway ultimately though both options are shallow.

I feel also that because the main character, despite beginning to change this habit, mostly lets things get done to her instead of being the one doing things, it ends up being hard to really watch her develop a relationship with anyone. A lot of the things she's said so far have just been her appreciating being cared about in general or her being like "oh these people want something from me so I should just give it to them." If I were her I wouldn't want another romantic anything for a long time. I'd be focused on living life on my own for me

Nah. Needed more groveling. The Stockholm Syndrome really took charge in their relationship smh. All that the ml did was get Jing to be dependent on him, and even that was forced. The only reason Jing even kind of forgave him is because of the pheromones that his body was forced to like now. The ml is just as bad as all the other guys who tried to force themselves on Jing. But oh well, it’s a manhua so I wasn’t expecting too much on the romance aspect. I do like the story involving the organizations tho

OMG IM SO GLAD JUJU WAS RELEASED AND ABLE TO BE WITH RIO AGAIN.
I hated loulan, but hearing about what happened to her… like… oh boy. (She even mentioned insects like wtf), she was a product of the unfair system and I liked how the real villain and enemy wasn’t the girls. It was men using girls for their own gain, exploiting them and driving them into a corner.
After what Loulan went through, I like that she ended up somewhere where she won’t have to be touched by another man again. I like that they brought back that fact from the first chapter, where Mc wasn’t made to serve customers because of her brand. She doesn’t deserve to be forgiven, since she caused juju to get unfairly accused and branded. However, she also doesn’t deserve death, since she was a victim of the system.
I’m glad they changed that system lol.
Honestly, the biggest catharsis I felt was when Loulan called out everyone else, even the prince. That like raised a lot of points for me, about her character lol. She seemed like she truly did love juju as well, in the end, but her pain, trauma, and frustrations warped that love into hate.
Anyway, I’m just glad juju didn’t end up with the guy who branded her. Like, that would be wild.
I think I’m the only one who actually kinda likes Loulan(though mostly because she called out everyone lol)
Also, I love how possessive Rio is and I was so worried about who the ml was going to be. Especially since the author’s other story… the male lead was… hahh…
It’s not confirmed yet, of course, but Rio has had more romantic scenes I feel like. So here’s hoping.

I loved this story so much and has such a good female lead! Unlike a lot of other swordswomen characters who’s personality is “emotionless tomboy badass with a sword” I love that Judith isn’t a “I don’t care about anything other than the sword” type and she still embraces the want to wear dresses and fall in love! It’s so refreshing!
Like, idk how to describe it, but it’s just so nice to see a girl character that is strong and is still clearly someone who likes girly stuff. She just didn’t have the means to explore that, until later on in the story. It’s just cause I’ve seen so many stories with a powerful swordswomen character and they’re usually like “I don’t care about romance. I don’t like dresses. Vulnerability? Was is that? Is it tasty?” And it’s just so nice to see Judith basically be a regular girl that was given the ability to chase after a better life and fulfill her dreams.
You couldn’t have worked this any better way, sums up exactly why I love Judith so much as a strong female MC
